Just a few testimonials...
Derby Management was with us at the very beginning
of our new business. We worked hand in hand on the
business plan and the fundraising. The plan was rock
solid and delivered. As the business grew at a
meteoric rate passing the $100 million dollar mark,
Derby Management was there for us again, driving home
the systematic approach to critical on-time execution
of the operating plan. CEO, Serono
I truly enjoyed the CEO Bootcamp. You and the Derby Management team did a great
job. I thought the content and dialogue was great and I feel exhausted which is
exactly what you promised.
Jen Harrington, Partner, Trinity Communications
I thought it was excellent. The material selected was appropriate and well
presented. The binder was professional and complete and the pace of the
presentation and discussion was just right. I particularly enjoyed the case
discussions. I think the strength of your presentations was the depth of
experience you have and the willingness and ability to recognize and
acknowledge where mistakes were made and how they were corrected. The
supporting anecdotes were the most powerful reinforcement of the theories and
practices you presented. In summary, "I would strongly recommend the Derby Boot
Camp to any emerging or experienced entrepreneur as a means of developing or
tuning up their early stage management skills. Jack and his team deliver a fast
paced, thorough view of the most likely challenges a young company will
encounter as well as the tactics and resources needed to meet them."
Pete Bransfield, CEO, Founder, Altair Avionics
I first met Jack when I was trying to raise our first round of venture capital.
He successfully coached me through that round. Three capital campaigns later,
and after surviving the technology depression, we had a very successful exit
for everyone, including Jack, involved. Jack's counsel at every milestone was
an important factor in making the right decisions, avoiding fatal mistakes and achieving success.
Jay Habegger, CEO Founder, Bitpipe
Before boot camp we knew (because we are early) no VC would give us $5 million. Boot camp helped me
understand how to show the value in the company, without accidentally getting the VC to think about
the numbers. This is pretty critical, if you are early stage and a VC starts to think about the
numbers on meeting one, they will think "these numbers are really bad." Instead we have him thinking
"this idea is really good" and "this opportunity could be really large." That got us to meeting 2,
and if we play that right we will be back in front of Liam in a few weeks.
Tom Hunter, CEO Founder, Glymetrix
Thanks, Jack. You guys did a fine job. For me it was a good combination of validation of what I have learned the past 6 months about the investment world and new jewels to make me a better founder. I think Bob Gleason (our new President and CEO) and I will be ready to take you up on your offer to listen to our presentation in the next 30-45 days or so. I am really looking forward to your candid critique.
Ted Nelson, CEO Founder, Virtuocard
