Hopefully, everyone shoveled through Snowmaggedon 2026 without too much impact. Here at the NH beach, with two driveways, two snowblowers, a plow service, and most importantly, two high school brothers who live down the street, we weathered also giving me time to talk with the boys about high school, summer jobs and college choices.
Add to that that in general, as educators, we do a "B" level job in teaching the details of what it takes to get the best jobs in the realities of 2026:
At Tufts, like all great universities, we have strong support systems both in our Career Service and especially among our professors and teaching staff. We're always on the lookout to mentor individual seniors and make connections where we can. I have the privilege of teaching courses in the sciences of Marketing and Sales within the Derby Entrepreneurship Center, and I'm always looking for how we can do more for our students in directly guiding them through the job hunt process, which is why I wrote this ebook: The Marketing of Me
This is a free ebook, and my simple intent is to bring to students and recent graduates, the new rules of job hunting and career guidance in an era where no one reads resumes anymore, AI interprets experience and defines probabilities, and social media plays an important role. All critical factors that I've taken from the do years of Tufts and MIT classrooms and the direct management experiences of hiring hundreds and hundreds of employees.
Take a look, pass it on to your kids, and if you have a minute, please let me know what you think.
